Dervish Help!
Hey guys, I was getting pretty frustrated with GuildWars. I cannot seem to be able to run a build that is successful in Eye of the North Hard Mode. I try, and try, but I always tpk wipe wipe. (Total party kill, then wipe off the screen). If anyone could give me any help, it would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks, Thorinfire. |

Post your build and your heroes build.
What are you doing in EoTN? Give us some more info. |

I don't really have a "build" persay. I just throw some skills on, and run it.
I'm trying to finish the quest "Northern Allies" on Hardmode. I just can't seem to do it. My main goal is to finish EotN on hard mode. And for my heroes, I only have Dervish and Ranger skills unlocked, so I kinda got messed up with that.... Thanks for replying, Thorinfire. |

Welp, I dont have a Dervish so I cant really help too much regarding your build, however I've found that even with mediocre builds you'll do just fine as long as the rest of your party is setup correctly to tackle the situation. If you do your research before doing something (vanquishing, specific quests, etc.) you can setup your party accordingly. Ofc, as always, its important to call targets in HM so your party can concentrate their efforts.
Have you tried running sabway or discord heroes before? If not then you might want to give it a go. |

What it a sabway team? I've heard of a ranger team consisting of Ranger Ritualists, (Splinter Weapon, for the win!)
Thanks, Thorinfire |

Thanks -- I'll try 'em out. How do I get Elites for my heroes if I don't have 'em unlocked?
And back to topic -- I still need a build where I can survive, but do damage in hard mode EoTn. Thanks, Thorinfire |

For sabsway you'l be able to survive better by just having aload of minions around helping to soak up the aggro. I haven't ever stuck at playing a dervish, but just get a few enchants and mystic regen. Doesn't really matter about your damage with sabs, because the minions dying will be causing mass damage. EDIT: To obtain elites for your heroes, either you can; buy the skill pack which will unlock every skill on your account. make a necro and cap skills or change your secondary to necro and cap the skills. or play pvp unlock balth faction, and then unlock the skills by talking to a priest of balthazar. Well first off, do you have Factions and Nightfall on your account? If you do its rather easy as you will have access to all elites in the game, just look up the skill on the official guild wars wiki -
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page From there you can find out what area you have to go to and you can capture the skill you need. These skills then become unlocked on your account and can be used by you and your heroes as well. I cant help you at all concerning your Derv build but maybe PvX Wiki can http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Should be a decent build on there you can use if you cant come up with a suitable one for yourself. Okay, I'll jump on the derv part of this (assuming you're using your derv)...
if you have skills + attributes, then = a build, even if its purposely haphhazard if you have factions, then ALWAYS take Avatar of Holy Might In PvE you can't beat Avatar of Melandru + Wearying Strike + Eternal Aura+ AoHM + other skills (if you know how to cycle it properly). |

You mean Aura of Holy Might.
Also, I disagree. AoM is best if you're facing a lot of conditions. AoD is better for hex-heavy areas. And if you're facing neither, you're better off with Wounding Strike or Reaper's Sweep, because the energy cost just isn't worth it if you don't need the condition immunity. Also, if you have factions and you're having trouble with wipes, go D/W and spam Save Yourselves! Last edited by reaper with no name; May 28, 2009 at 04:55 AM // 04:55.. |

If you're going to do the Far Shiverpeaks areas, take Avatar of Dwayna for the Jotun and Avatar of Melandru for the Mandragor. Don't take Wounding Strike if you are fighting mainly elementals. And make sure you run a somewhat balanced team.
